Bremer Spirituosen Contor releases Sömmerlik Flavoured Gin

Bremen, 26 Augsut 2021. the Bremer Spirituosen Contor proves once again the sense for the trend of the time and publishes Sömmerlik Flavoured Gin. The gin created in Bremen captures the summer with its fruity-sweet taste and at the same time reflects the diversity and fruitiness of the taste of the North with the three varieties Blueberry, Rhubarb and Strawberry.

Behind Sömmerlik is the idea to capture the lightness of summer in a glass. From this was also derived the name Sömmerlik, which comes from the Low German and means summery.

THE IDEA

A summer that should never end. Best time with best friends and the most legendary garden parties in the world. Gin & tonic refined with self-picked
fruits. Barbecue, good music and balmy summer nights. Just a great time. The memory of this time inspired the Bremen Timo Lambrecht in the creation of Sömmerlik® Flavoured Gin. A mild gin with the lightness of summer and a fruity-sweet taste.

“With Sömmerlik, we wanted to create a gin that conjures up a summery gin & tonic in the glass all year round. With its mildly fruity aromas and striking color, Sömmerlik is a gin for all those who are already missing the summer,” says Timo Lambrecht.

THE RECIPE

Over several months Timo Lambrecht, developed the recipe for Sömmerlik® Gin in Bremen. As a starting point, a so-called Old Tom Gin was created, which, in contrast to the dry London Dry Gin, is deliberately sweetened and thus raises the rather dry juniper notes to a sweeter pedestal – rounded off with classic botanicals such as coriander seeds and lemon peel. A delicious and balanced base, refined with the eponymous fruity flavors of the North and spices to match. To achieve the perfect balance of taste and lightness, Sömmerlik® is bottled at 38.8% alcohol by volume.

The detailed label of the bottle was developed by an internationally renowned designer. The wild flowers and the ladybug highlight the naturalness of the flavor.

Sömmerlik Flavoured Gin is available immediately from well-stocked retailers and specialist beverage wholesalers throughout Germany. Sources of supply can be inquired over the Bremer Spirituosen Contor or over the form for contact.

Tasting Notes

Sömmerlik® Strawberry

STRAWBERRY WITH A TOUCH OF BASIL

Anyone who grows strawberries in their own garden or has even collected wild strawberries knows what a perfect strawberry must taste like. Fruity, intense and slightly tart. For Sömmerlik®
Strawberry we have brought exactly this taste into the bottle. Like a balmy summer evening, the gin smells of freshly harvested strawberries, sweet juniper berries and fine spices. For a special twist, we have rounded off the pink gin with the aroma of basil.

Sömmerlik® Blueberry

BLUEBERRY WITH A TOUCH OF BASIL

The small, thick blue blueberries from the edge of the forest in northern Germany are a bit awkward to pick but so irresistibly delicious that the effort and the discolored fingers are worth it. The aroma of the tart-sweet fruit also characterizes the taste of Sömmerlik® Blueberry. The fruity note is rounded off with a spicy-hot taste reminiscent of candied ginger sticks. A perfect purple glowing gin with tart blueberry notes, juniper and the subtle spiciness of ginger.

Sömmerlik® Rhubarb

RHUBARB WITH A TOUCH OF BASIL

When Grandma’s kitchen smelled of rhubarb on Sundays, you knew it was time for her delicious family recipe compote. Fruity-sweet rhubarb flavor, refined with the secret ingredient vanilla. Sömmerlik® Rhubarb perfects the gin with exactly this feel-good aroma from grandma’s kitchen. Rhubarb, juniper, aromatic botanicals and a hint of seductive vanilla characterize this juicy red gin.
