A marriage of
inspiration and art

Walsh Whiskey was founded in 1999 by the husband and wife Bernard and Rosemary Walsh and is now more one of the leading companies in Irish whiskey production. The portfolio includes exclusively premium and super-premium whiskeys that are triple distilled according to Irish tradition. Under the leadership of Bernard Walsh, the company has built a portfolio of internationally award-winning whiskeys. The great goal of Walsh Whiskey is the balancing act between the past and the modern. On the one hand, the focus is on the revival of Irish whiskey, as one of the most appreciated spirits in the world, which is why the 19th century is called “Ireland’s golden era of whiskey making”, and not without reason. On the other hand, the creation of innovative new bottlings marks a new era.

The Writer’s tears

Ireland has been richly blessed with some of the world’s greatest and most important writers. Many Irish writers sought solace and inspiration in whiskey, successfully combating their writer’s block. The story goes that when an Irish writer cried, tears of pure whiskey flowed. Writers’ Tears was created in honor of these wonderful writers and poets. A whiskey to inspire the present, and to bow to those who have passed away many years ago.

Writers’ Tears Copper Pot

Writers’ Tears Copper Pot is a unique Irish pot still whiskey. A blend of single pot still and single malt, which is distilled from 60% malt and 40% pot still. The special feature here is that no grain is included. Writers’ Tears is triple distilled, not peated, and aged in former American bourbon barrels.

Writers’ Tears Double Oak

Writers’ Tears Double Oak – created from a unique combination of two barrel types. American oak barrels from Kentucky and French cognac oak barrels from France give the whiskey its distinctive taste. A characterful blend of single malt and single pot still Irish whiskey with complex flavors of summer fruits and chocolate.

Writers’ Tears Single Pot Still

Originally bottled in bourbon barrels, the triple-distilled single-pot still whiskey was then finished in Pedro-Ximenez sherry and Marsala barrels. It is precisely these that give the whiskey its delightfully sweet scent of candied apples, while on the palate the velvety flavors of PX sherry predominate, giving the whiskey a pleasantly spicy finish.
