Japanese roots for more than 100 years

Togouchi is a high-quality, artisanal whiskey brand from Japan produced by Sakurao Brewery & Distillery (located in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima Prefecture). Founded in 1918, the distillery looks back on more than 100 years of corporate history in the production of sake, liqueurs and shochu.

In 1990, the company began to devote itself additionally to the production of blended whisky – the birth of Togouchi.

A unique place
for whisky maturation

What makes Togouchi whiskies special is the unique place for the maturing process: in the heart of the nearby mountainous region there is a 717-meter-long tunnel that was built by the Japanese railroad company in 1970 but remained unused. With a constant temperature of 14°C and a humidity of 80%, said place offers ideal conditions for the maturation of Togouchi whiskies.
