Bremen, October 28, 2020. The whiskeys of the Redemption brand, which is owned by the renowned U.S. company Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, will in future be distributed exclusively by Bremer Spirituosen Contor in Germany. The whiskeys are distilled, stored and bottled at the MGP Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, which was founded in 1847.
The brand name pays tribute to the conscious pursuit of a r(y)enaissance in the whiskey world. Rye whiskey was the No. 1 whiskey in North America until the time of Prohibition. Initially, two qualities of the brand are available in Germany. Besides Redemption Rye, lovers of American whiskeys can also choose Redemption Bourbon Whiskey.
While a federal law states that a whiskey’s mash must contain 51% rye to be classified as Rye, Redemption Rye uses a 95% rye content. The result is a wonderfully aromatic whiskey with light floral hints as well as citrus notes and a slightly minty finish.
Redemption Bourbon has also been meticulously handcrafted to bring out the traditional flavors of the highest quality bourbon whiskeys – a true reflection of “America’s Native Spirit.” The corn content of 75% gives the whiskey a classic sweet taste with notes of vanilla and caramel, while the comparatively high amount of rye (21%) gives it a spicy aroma.
The combination of a high proportion of rye and the selected alcohol content helps the whiskeys to achieve a unique flavor experience despite a comparatively short, but at least two-year aging in new, charred oak barrels. In addition, the uniqueness of Redemption’s range is due to the unconditional dedication throughout the production process, where everything is fine-tuned to ensure a consistently high-quality taste of each whiskey. The bottle convinces with the striking logo embossing or typography, the leather-like label, the cork as well as an easy handling due to the inward curved back.
Dana Ryall, Vice President International Sales Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits:
“We are full of anticipation for the launch of Redemption Whiskey in Europe. With both the Rye and the Bourbon Whiskey, Redemption stands for an absolute American premium whiskey experience. Our experience in the domestic U.S. market has strengthened our resolve to share the brand’s success with whiskey fans in Europe in the future.”
Once pegged as a drink for experienced whiskey drinkers, Rye Whiskey is now also gaining popularity among whiskey novices as an ingredient in classic premium cocktails (Sazerac, Manhattan or Whiskey Sour).
In the future, Redemption Whiskey will be available throughout Germany in well-stocked (online) retail outlets as well as in upscale restaurants.
