1883 DRINK DESIGN ACADEMY 2026

In November 2026, 1883 will open its doors for an exclusive three-day Drink Design training course in Chambéry—right in the heart of the French Alps. There are only 12 spots available throughout Europe, and one of them could be yours.

Date: November 23, 2026 – November 27, 2026 (including arrival and departure)

We will select two people from among all the applicants.

Contest Theme: French Excellence

The goal of the competition is to create a drink that reflects the French “spirit.” Inspiration can come from areas such as culture, art, music, fashion, history, or other defining elements of France.

  • You must use at least 30 ml of an 1883 product (syrup or Création Fruits).

  • A maximum of 5 ingredients may be used (decorations do not count as ingredients).
  • The 1883 ingredient used must not be altered or processed (e.g., no infusions, reductions, or combinations beforehand).
  • Products from competing brands in the same category are not permitted.
  • Homemade ingredients are allowed, provided that they:

    • are easily reproducible and
    • must not be combined with or processed using the 1883 product.
  • The drink must be prepared on the spot and must not be fully pre-made or pre-batched.

Here’s how you can participate

Please submit the following information by August 31, 2026, at the latest, via our application form :

  • Complete recipe (name, ingredients, techniques, preparation, garnish)
  • A photo of the finished drink
  • A recent photo of yourself
  • A brief description of your background and career in the restaurant industry
  • A short video that:
    • shows how to make the drink
    • Explaining the Inspiration
    • briefly introduces the workplace (if possible)
  • A short written description providing inspiration for the drink (concept, choice of the 1883 ingredient, French influence, etc.)
Eligibility Requirements
  • Minimum age: 21 years old
  • Permanent position at a restaurant
  • Willingness to travel for an international incentive trip / training in France
  • Eligibility to participate at the specified time
  • Good English language skills
Additional Evaluation Criteria
  • Active social media communication (introducing the drink, the bar, and yourself)
  • Link to the official 1883 account (@1883syrups)
