36 distilleries, 10 countries, 42 whiskies directly to your home! Including SÄNTIS Swiss Alpine Whisky and PAUL JOHN Indian Single Malt Whisky
Bremen/Kempen, March 09, 2021. Follow the whisk(e)y fair live from the comfort of your home and send the whisk(e)y samples to the participants in advance by mail: that was the basic idea for the 1st whisk(e)y conference in hybrid format in the first lockdown in spring 2020. In Kempen on the Lower Rhine, Germany’s first hybrid fair will now go live online in the whisk(e)y segment on April 10-11, 2021.
What is a hybrid fair?
Hybrid means that while exhibitors and their whisk(e)ys exhibit on-site in the showroom at this trade show event, show attendees connect online from home. Here, the participant has the opportunity to either follow the trade fair program via stream or to actively participate in one of the video conferences.
The international perspective is also an innovation in this fair – the number of whisk(e)y-producing countries has become very large. The 1st Whisk(e)y Conference has set itself the goal of bringing whisk(e)y fans closer to precisely this exciting diversity. 36 distilleries from 10 countries send 42 whiskies directly to the fair visitors at home! Numerous greats of the whisk(e)y scene will be there and also some not (yet) so well known with perhaps a great future in the booming market. There is still a lot to be done between now and April. The Whisk(e)y Conference Loft becomes a trade show film studio: the conference opens on Saturday evening, April 10, 2021, with the kick-off event on “American Whisky.” On the main show day, Sunday, April 11, programming will be broadcast throughout the day starting at noon. The program highlights on this day are the “Debatt(l)e” Tastings. Here, different countries and their representatives are introduced and then face a direct comparison with another country in a blind tasting. Trade fair participants can follow the “Debatt(l)e Tasting” via livestream or actively participate in video conferences. If there are relaxations regarding possible numbers of participants by April, depending on the permitted number of visitors and the Corona rules then in force, it may even be possible for trade fair participants to be there in person.
To sweeten the wait until the event, visitors will receive the first sample set when they purchase a ticket for the conference. This is a so-called blind tasting, without indication of the whisk(e)y brands. This much can be revealed: There are six different countries in the set. Those who can correctly identify the countries in their “home tasting” will have a chance to win a rare or already out-of-print bottling at the fair. The Latin “conferre” literally means “to gather, to compare”.
The 1st Whisk(e)y Conference is intended to offer both whisk(e)y lovers and whisk(e)y-interested newcomers an entertaining trade fair alternative: To get to know whisk(e)y, discuss about it, compare or just to enjoy and be there.

About the Whisk(e)y Conference

Furthermore, Carlo Goertsches (r.), owner of the Goertsches distillery and wine and spirits shop, known far beyond Kempen for its beverage and party service, exclusive spirits, wines and champagnes, as well as tastings and whisky tastings.
