GES founds new spirits subsidiary Rising Brands
Nuremberg, 12.09.2023 – The Nuremberg-based GES group wants to strengthen its spirits business and has founded the new company “Rising Brands” for this purpose. The exclusive brands of the GES-owned company Bremer Spirituosen Contor (BSC) are to be managed separately in the wholly-owned GES subsidiary in future and thus “marketed in an even more focused manner”, as GES announced. Stefan Fröhlich, who is known in the industry as the long-standing On-Trade Director GFGH of Pernod Ricard Germany (until 2015), will become Managing Director.
Specifically, this involves brands owned by GES such as Limoncello Licellino or the exclusive range of distribution brands such as Malecon Rum, the range of independent Scottish bottler Douglas Laing with brands such as Big Peat or the new 1883 syrups launched in Germany.
New brands also in our sights
“As a subsidiary of GES, together with its members, we have the best opportunities to drive forward the development of our existing brands and add new, interesting brands to the range,” explains Stefan Fröhlich. “We will always pursue the interests of specialist wholesalers and specialist retailers.”
Initially, 15 employees will work at Rising Brands, who already marketed the brands concerned at BSC and looked after the catering trade for GFGH. Bremer Spirituosen Contor will remain unchanged as a service provider through which GFGH can purchase the brands.
According to GES, sales of 11.8 million euros were achieved in the 2022 financial year with the brands, which are predominantly located in the upmarket segment. Rising Brands will present itself to its partners next week (September 19/20) at Pro Fachhandel in Nuremberg. The new company will be represented there with its own stand and many promotions.
